COVID-19: safety measures at FERCAM

Thanks to the joint efforts of employees and collaborators, FERCAM promptly faced the moment of emergency.

We are proud to be able to say that we have always remained operational, to safeguard the continuity of the supply chain of our Customers, continuing to guarantee a quality and safe transport service.
But the initial sprint is not enough: we are still on a long path, like a marathon, which requires us to think long-term and adapt as needs change.

Safety for our employees and collaborators

We have limited physical presence in the company, implementing the remote working method for all professions that allow off-site management of activities. For those who necessarily had to go to the office, the work was organized in shifts and all the precautionary measures described in the government decrees were diligently applied.

In fact, in our offices we have imposed a minimum distance and it is mandatory to wear a mask. Disinfectant gel dispensers have been installed in all branches and we regularly issue updated information and regulations.

Corporate events have been postponed and meetings are held by videoconference. Training activities continued to be carried out, but in e-learning mode or via virtual connection.

From the very beginning, even before it was made mandatory by law, we equipped our drivers with personal protective equipment, such as masks, gloves and disinfectant.

Thanks to the collaboration with Emi Controls (of the TechnoAlpin group), a company specialized in the production of machinery for the nebulization of liquids, we tested the new sanitizing technologies for large environments in our warehouse in Bolzano.

We carry out daily cleaning and disinfection of workstations and periodic deep sanitization of all working environments.

Access by external personnel will continue to be as limited as possible, with defined routes and limited contact. As an additional security measure, we allow access to corporate environments only to those with body temperatures below 37.5 °C.

Safety for our customers and goods

We were very honored to be able to offer a voluntary transport service for medical supplies from Austria, in the early stages of the emergency. Even more than before, the Covid emergency made us feel part of a community and eager to be as supportive and collaborative as possible.

By air, also by means of dedicated charter flights, we have imported tens of millions of masks, gowns and other personal protective equipment, destined for Italian hospitals.
We believe it is essential to continue to rigorously apply all prevention rules, limiting the risk of contagion as much as possible. Our Home Delivery BU specialists, who take care of deliveries to the floor and any assembly of purchased products, have in particular adopted specific measures to protect the health of customers and staff in charge.

What do we intend to do in the near future?

First of all, to guarantee continuity of service and support to all our customers, respecting the high quality standard we always aim for.

We will continue to adapt our offer to the changing needs of the market, proposing new solutions and flexible responses, formulated on the basis of contingent needs. We will continue to offer you innovative services, integrated monitoring systems and 360° logistics consultancy. In addition to air and sea shipments to and from destinations in Asia, we have integrated in the emergency phase the all-road mode from China, an alternative for the transport of full loads, dedicated in particular to the pharmaceutical and medical, chemical, plant engineering and high tech.

For the refurbishment of the offices and the placement of protective plexiglass panels, you can also count on our specialists in the Removals and Home Delivery sectors, who will make their expertise available to make all the adjustments required in the workspaces by the new directives.
